Rising Heat wins on Debut at Turfway Park in race #6 on 01/01/23!
01/01/23 | Florence, KY – Dare To Dream Stable’s 3 Yr old filly Rising Heat rang in the New Year with an emphatic 4 1/2 length victory over 8 other maidens going one mile at Turfway Park. Rising Heat was making her debut for the stable and made one heck of a first impression with this ultra impressive victory. Breaking from the rail under the guidance of the young talented apprentice jockey Walter Rodriguez, Rising Heat broke sharply and Rodriguez put her in a good position stalking the pace while just a few lengths off the leaders. Rodriguez did a great job saving ground on the backside from the inside and remained in a really good position entering the far turn before he made a terrific veteran move and slipped through when an opening presented itself in upper stretch. From there Rising Heat took command and drew away in the late stages to coast home by 4 1/2 lengths as much the best.
What a great way to ring in the New Year as the daughter of Upstart was as professional as they come, especially it being her first start and going two turns. With this victory, Rising Heat earned $22,500 of the $36,650 purse. Congratulations to all our great partners who were able to start the new year with this victory. Congratulations also go out to trainer Michael Stidham, Hilary Pridham, and the entire team having Rising Heat so sharp and ready first time out. Kudos to apprentice jockey Walter Rodriguez who rode the horse perfectly and like a savvy veteran.
