R LUKKI SONG – 2017 Bay Filly by Girolamo out of Chilukki’s Song (Elusive Quality) – KY Bred
R Lukki Song is an incredibly athletic and quick filly with a smart, sensible mind paired with those outstanding physical attributes. Bred by Godolphin, this filly truly has everything you look for in a runner. She is smooth, light on her feet and is beautifully balanced. She had one of the best workouts (if not THE best) at the recently concluded OBS March Two Year Olds In Training Sale.
R Lukki Song breezed an 1/8th in 10 seconds flat. That was tied for the 3rd fastest time at the sale for those breezing that distance (349 horses). It’s not just the time that was outstanding, it’s how she looked doing it and her gallop out time along with her stride analysis that put this filly over the top! Aside from being smooth as silk in her movement over the surface & taking the turn like a slot car on the gallop out, R Lukki Song galloped out the 1/4 mile in 20.4 and the 3 furlongs in :32.4 as timed by EQUIX ProStride™! That 1/4 mile gallop out would have tied her for 3rd fastest 1/4 mile work (out of 130) and she was just galloping out. The 3 furlong gallop out in :32.4 is just plain outstanding! (click Equix ProStride button above for complete details).
It get’s even better, this beautifully balanced filly stands at 15.2 hands right now (should top off at right near 16 hands when she’s done growing), yet she had one of the largest strides of any horse at the sale, male or female! Her stride length was measured at 25.80 feet and put her in the first quartile for day 1 workers. The average was 24.65 for colts and 24.62 for fillies. That puts her at more than 12 inches over average! According to EQUIX, the longest striding horses at OBS at all sales in the last several years who have proper foot strike (not jumping) is about 26 feet. You can read the Equix Report below.
