A horse will be purchased at the upcoming March OBS Sale of Two -Year-Olds In Training taking place March 21-22, 2023.
The horse will be placed with rising-star trainer, Christopher Davis. We expect the horse to be stabled and racing in the Spring and Fall at Keeneland/Churchill and Ellis Park in the summer. Shipping to race at Horseshoe Indianapolis and other tracks in the region is also possible. Winters will likely be in Florida at Gulfstream Park.
Expected purchase price range will be $50,000 to $115,000.
Following are the interest level options available, along with corresponding pricing range for each option. These figures include a $15K expense reserve to cover the horse for the period of March through June following the sale, as well as commissions.
The following percentage levels are available:
- 2% interest $1,550.00 – $2,950.00
- 5% interest $3,825 – $7,325.00
- 10% interest $7,600.00 – $14,600.00
How does it work?
Once you have decided to get in and you have picked your percentage, you will be billed ahead of time for the highest possible price we may pay at the auction for that percentage. Billing will be sent out in February for this partnership. If the actual auction price is less than the upper most limit stated above, you will be refunded the difference within 7 days of the auction purchase.
Our commission (already figured into above price ranges) is simple and transparent. 25% on the hammer (sale) price with a $17.5K maximum & $7.5K minimum. 5% interests purchased will receive an additional $50 discount and 10% interests purchased will receive an additional $150 discount.
