A horse will be purchased at the upcoming June OBS Sale of Two -Year-Olds In Training June 9-12, 2020. The horse will be placed with trainer Chris Davis. We expect the horse to be stabled in Kentucky from April through October. From that base in KY, we can conveniently run at Churchill Downs, Keenland, Indiana Downs, Ellis Park, Kentucky Downs and Hawthorne (If Arlington Park ends up running again, that is in the mix as well – with the possibility of stabling there). From November through March, the horse will be stabled at Fair Grounds in New Orleans. From that winter base, it’s also an easy ship to Delta Downs, Sam Houston & Oaklawn when appropriate. Expected purchase price range will be $35,000 to $90,000.
Following are the interest level options available on each horse, along with corresponding pricing range for each option. These figures include a $14K expense reserve to cover the horse for a 3 month period following the sale, as well as commissions.
The following percentage levels are available:
- 2% interest $1,155.00 – $2,360.00
- 5% interest $2,887.50 – $5,900.00
- 10% interest $5,775.00 – $11,800.00
How does it work?
Once you have decided to get in and you have picked your percentage, you will be billed ahead of time for the highest possible price we may pay at the auction for that percentage. If the actual auction price is less than the upper most limit stated above, you will be refunded the difference within 7 days of the purchase.
Our commission (already figured into above price ranges) is simple and transparent. 25% on the hammer (sale) price with a $14K maximum.
