BERNIN HOT – 2021 Gray or Roan Colt by Bernardini out of Lavender Baby (Rubiano) – Kentucky Bred
Super nice colt here! This handsome boy stands 16 hands with a very racey frame. He adds a power-packed pedigree to that physical as well. Bernin Hot worked a 1/8th 10.1 at the 2023 OBS March Two Year Old In Training sale. He galloped out a 1/4 mile in 21.0 & the 3 furlongs in 33.2!
This colt is by BERNARDINI, a legendary thoroughbred stallion who has achieved great success in the world of horse racing. He is a well-known name among horse enthusiasts and has left an indelible mark on the sport. Here are some of the accomplishments that make Bernardini a stallion worth promoting:
- Bernardini won six of his eight career races and earned over $3.1 million in prize money, including victories in the prestigious Preakness Stakes, Travers Stakes, and Jockey Club Gold Cup.
- Named the Eclipse Award for Champion Three-Year-Old Male in 2006, recognizing his dominance on the track and his contribution to the sport.
- He has a regal pedigree, being sired by A.P. Indy and out of the mare Cara Rafaela, who was a multiple graded stakes winner herself.
- Bernardini’s offspring have also enjoyed tremendous success on the racetrack. His progeny have won major races including the Breeders’ Cup Classic, Kentucky Oaks, and Dubai World Cup, among others.
- Sire of 85 black-type winners, 914 winners of 2560 races and earning $109,238,843 including 2 Champions!

On the Dam side, Bernin Hot’s pedigree is equally impressive and dynamic. You won’t find many better producers than his 1st dam, Lavender Baby. For one thing, she was a darn good runner herself, winning 8 times and racing until age 6 while earning $139,830. As a mom, she’s thrown out runner after runner, with 8 winners from 9 foals to race including 5 stakes horses! Those runners include multiple Graded Stakes winner BABY J ($324,333), Stakes winner LAVENDER CHRISSIE ($281,093) & Stakes winner and Grade 1 Stakes-placed LAUREATE CONDUCTOR ($297,114). She’s also thrown stakes placed Que Posse ($315,329) and Gossamer Wings ($87,511). Click on the Pedigree button for complete details.
