NICOLE'S DREAM ARRIVES IN HONG KONG FOR THE HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL SPRINT
Nicole's Dream arrived in Hong Kong on November 30 in good order for her quest to win the Grade I Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Sprint. The race is contested at 1000 meters and is the richest turf sprint race in the world, boasting a purse of $1,280,000 USD. She was accompanied on board the plane by regular exercise rider, Jose Candelas, and assistant trainer, Jodie Sinclair. Trainer, Larry Rivelli, jockey, E.T. Baird and 3 of the partners will be arriving the week of December 5th.
Standing in the way of what would be a huge payday for the speedy mare is one of the top horses in the world, Silent Witness. The Hong Kong Champion and winner of 16 straight races and over $11 Million USD, is not on top of his game right now and might be a late withdrawal from the race. There are plenty of other accomplished european and asian turf sprinters awaiting the challenge in what looks to be a large field. The race takes place on December 11th at Sha Tin Racecourse in Hong Kong and is part of a racecard with four Grade I races worth over $7,000,000 USD and has become recognized as the World Turf Championships. Participation in the events was limited by invitation only.

Stormy Seas wins at Mountaineer on October 22, 2005!!
Stormy Seas broke a bit in the air in the 5 1/2 furlong 9th race contest on the muddy main track at Mountaineer, immediately putting him a a bit of a disadvantage on the inside. Jockey, T.T. Nguyen, rushed the veteran gelding up to rate just off the pace on the inside and allowed him to settle there. He started asking Stormy for run at the 1/4 pole and then moved him up to duel on the outside for the stretch run. When they hit deep stretch, Stormy Seas shook clear of Whiskey Bend, putting away that foe and edged off to a 1 3/4 length victory.
Scrubbin Speed wins at Hawthorne on October 15, 2005!!

Nicole's Dream drills the boys at Arlington Park in Taylor's Special Stakes!
Dare To Dream's super mare, Nicole's Dream did it again at Arlington Park on September 18, 2005, when she destroyed a field of 9 males in the Taylor's Special Stakes. Despite breaking from post 10 and being assigned the high weight in the field, Nicole quickly shot out of the gate and grabbed an early lead as she crossed over towards the rail. They never got close as she cruised home under the wire in hand while missing another track record by one-tenth of a second.
Nicole's Dream has won 4 in a row and 20 of 40 lifetime starts. Her career earnings have now reached $558,146. She'll make her next start in the Majorette Stakes at Louisiana Downs on October 2, 2005.

Nicole's Dream Captures JJ's Dream Stakes at Arlington Park!

The "Big Mare" did it again on Sunday, July 24, 2005 at Arlington Park! Nicole's Dream crushed another stakes field at Arlington Park by 5 1/2 lengths in the JJ's Dream Stakes. She was .005 off the track record despite racing into a 20 mile an hour head-wind down the backstretch, carrying 128 lbs. and dealing with a heat index of 110 degrees on a steamy afternoon. Jockey E.T. Baird never even had to move his hands, as he sat on her like a monument statute in cruising home to the hand-ridden victory. The victory was the 19th in 39 starts for the blazing turf star and it was her 7th win in 9 starts at Arlington Park.
Dare To Dream Stable's Nicole's Dream Annihilates Stakes Quality Allowance Field at Mountaineer Park To Surpass the $500,000 Mark in Career Earnings
Multiple stakes winning mare crushes foes by 5 1/2 lengths while just missing the track record by .02 seconds in a hand ride. Career record now stands at 38-18-6-3 $504,296.
Chester, West Virginia July 11, 2005 -- Staking her claim as possibly the fastest female thoroughbred sprinter in the country, Dare To Dream Stable's blazing mare, Nicole's Dream, surpassed the $500,000 mark in earnings in near record fashion in the 4th race at Mountaineer Park on Monday night. Rocketing through early fractions of 21.62 and 44.00 seconds, the speedy 5 year-old daughter of Northern Trend out of Flying Twosie , by Two's a Plenty, finished the 5f turf contest in :55.54 seconds while being hand ridden.
In demolishing her closest competitor by 5 1/2 lengths in the $47,800 allowance contest, the final time was just .02 seconds off the track record, which would have been the 3rd such record (Arlington Park and Tampa Bay Downs) for Nicole's Dream. “I never even opened up the throttle on her all the way,” said E. T. Baird, regular jockey for Nicole's Dream and Dare To Dream Stable. “She's as fast a horse as there is out there and she brings her game with her every time.”
While she's based out of trainer Larry Rivelli's barn at Arlington Park in the Chicago, IL area, Nicole's Dream is forced to take her travelling speed show to other tracks across the country like Churchill Downs in Kentucky and Lone Star Park in Texas in search of races that fit her unique talents. "She's beaten the boys a few times, won the Mamzelle Stakes at Churchill Downs back to back the last 2 years, won 18 races (more than 1/2 a dozen of them stakes) and earned over $500,000. She's provided thrill after thrill for all of our partners. I'm not sure how much more she can do, but I wouldn't be surprised at anything that this horse would do," said Michael Faber, Manager of Dare To Dream Stable. "She's everything you ask for in a race horse and then some."
GOTTA GO GO WINS 2ND IN A ROW AT ARLINGTON PARK - JUNE 30, 2005

Making his 2nd start off an 8 month layoff, Gotta Go Go proved that his smashing 8 1/2 length win in his first race back was no fluke. After battling for the lead early, Gotta Go Go drew off from his competitiion when asked in the stretch to cruise home with a 6 length victory in a hand ride under jockey, E.T. Baird. The strapping 4 year-old son of Montbrook now has a record of 7-3-0-0 $26,840.

JOHNS PLACE WINS THIRD RACE IN A ROW !!

Heart and desire....there's nothing quite like watching a thoroughbred that has it do her thing! Johns Place, a 3 year-old filly by Wheaton (Alydar) out of Magical Place (out Of Place) has as much of those 2 attributes as any horse on the track and she showed it again on May 28, 2005. Coming off a 7 month layoff and facing a tough field of allowance fillies in the 6th race at Arlington Park, Johns Place looked to be in fairly deep for her return to the races after the long break. Of course, she felt otherwise and she rallied from a few lengths off the pace in the stretch to score a 2 1/2 length victory in the 6 furlong contest. Johns Place stopped the clock in a very swift 1:10.36 and in doing so, she ran her record to 4-3-0-1 $50,360.
Since being purchased privately by Dare To Dream Stable in July 2004, Johns Place is a perfect 3 for 3 with 2 wins at Arlington Park and a win at Keeneland. Johns Place is trained for Dare To Dream Stable by Rebecca Maker.

ASESINA WINS AT ARLINGTON PARK !!

Asesina notched Dare To Dream Stable's first win of the young Arlington Park meet on May 22, 2005. Stalking the pace through the first 1/2 mile of the 6 furlong contest for 3-year old fillies, Asesina then blew by the pacesetter at the top of the stretch and won by by a comfortable 2 length margin under jockey, E.T. Baird. Asesina was claimed oout of this race and will start for a new barn next time out. In the Dare To Dream colors, she made 2 starts, finishing 2nd and 1st respectively.
NICOLE'S DREAM WINS MAMZELLE STAKES AT CHURCHILL AGAIN !!
Nicole's Dream was sent back to Churchill Downs again on May 5, 2005 to defend her title as the returning Mamzelle Stakes Champion. Following a successful formula that was used in winning the 2004 edition of the Mamzelle, she was making just her 2nd start of 2005 off a prep race in South Florida after a winter freshening. Just when you think this speed demon of a filly has accomplished all she can, she pulls out another thrilling stakes victory for her proud owners.
With jockey, Eddie Martin, Jr., in the irons, Nicole's Dream blasted out of the gate to quickly take a 2 length lead in the 5 furlong turf sprint. Speedy Sonata was pushed up by Robby Albarado to challenge her after the opening quarter-mile which was run in 21.85, but was unable to keep pace with Nicole as they hit the stretch run. Zipping through the half-mile in 44.33, Nicole's Dream turned back challenges from Hortense, Mocha Queen and Singit to win by a comforatable 1 1/4 lengths in a final time of :56.41.
The Derby week stakes triumph was the 16th for Nicole's Dream in 34 starts, including 7 Stakes wins, 2 track records and multiple wins over male rivals. Her record stands at 36-16-5-2 with $434,726 in earnings. She is trained for Dare To Dream Stable by Larry Rivelli.

"ROCKET" LAUNCHES GOLDEN CIRCLE STAKES WIN AT PRAIRIE MEADOWS !!

Coady Photography/Jack Coady
After a dull performance in the Rushaway Stakes at Turfway Park on March 26, 2005, a race after which it was later discovered he was very ill, Raving Rocket put it all back together with a win in the $50,000 Golden Cirlce Stakes at Prairie Meadows on April 23, 2005. With the medication and rest behind him, the Rocket travelled to Prairie Meadows to avenge a 2nd place finish in a stake there as a 2 year-old and prove his last race at Turfway was not the real Rocket. Standing in his way of redemption was the 2-5 favorite and top-notch sprinter, Semaphore Man. Drawing the rail, jockey E. T. Baird had no choice but to send the speedy son of Lil's Lad to the lead to gain position before they hit the turn. Blasting off through fast fractions of 22.22, 45.32, 57.43, 1:10.05, the Triple Crown Nominated Rocket was up by almost 2 lengths throughout the entire stretch and was never headed en route to the 1 3/4 length triumph and a 96 Beyer Speed Figure in the 6 furlong contest.
This was the 2nd stakes victory for Raving Rocket in less than 6 weeks, wherein he showed his verstaility by winning stakes at 6 fulongs and 1 1/16 miles. His previous stakes win was the $40,000 Flag Officer Stakes at Hawthorne Racecourse on March 12, 2005. That race was going a 1 1/16 miles on the main track.
For his career, Raving Rocket now has 4 wins in 8 career starts and earnings of $97,350 for Dare To Dream Stable. Raving Rocket is trained for Dare To Dream by Larry Rivelli.
RAVING ROCKET WIRES FIELD IN FLAG OFFICER STAKES AT HAWTHORNE !!

Dare To Dream Stable's Triple Crown nominee, Raving Rocket, led every step of the way en route to a 3 length victory in the Flag Officer Stakes at Hawthorne Racecourse on March 12, 2005. The Rocket was making his 2nd start of 2005 after a 4 month freshening and the Flag Officer Stakes was his first start around 2 turns. After breaking alertly from the gate and with nobody else wanting any part of the lead, jockey E.T. Baird sent the quick son of Lil's Lad to take early command of the race. Baird kept the Rocket in front setting modest fractions on a dead and tiring race track. When challenged coming off the turn, the Rocket responded to the right handed stick of Baird and put away all challengers, drawing off to the 3 length score. The win was the 3rd for the promising 3 year-old colt and his record now stands at 6-3-1-0 $67,350.00. His next planned start is in the Grade II $500,000 Illinois Derby on April 9th at Hawthorne Racecourse.
Raving Rocket is a half brother to Grade 3 winner Mocha Express and seven other winners produced by the winning Lord Gaylord mare Gayla. Raving Rocket is trained for Dare To Dream Stable by Larry Rivelli.

Facing olderWith Gerard Melancon in the saddle for the first time, Sahmkindawonderful was reserved near the back of the pack early under Melancon. It was the 3rd victory in 8 starts for the 4 year-old daughter of Sahm (Mr. Prospector) out of Lasque (Bounding Basque). Her record now stands at 8-3-1-0 with career earnings of $59,680, including a win in the Double Delta Stakes at Arlington Park in June of 2004. Dare To Dream Stable's Galactic Cat, a 2 year-old daughter by Forest Wildcat (Storm Cat) out of Regal Galaxy (Regal Classic), won her 2nd race in just her 3rd career start in a $28,000 Allowance race at Hawthorne Race Course on October 10th. Under jockey, Chris Emigh, Galactic Cat broke well from the 1 hole and took command of the race from the early going, while well in hand. She maintained that position throughout the race while being confidently ridden by Emigh. With a couple of horses trying to make a move on her at the 16th pole, Galactic Cat drew off under very mild urging to win by 1 3/4 lengths in an easy hand ride.
The striking chestnut filly is only 1/2 length from being a perfect 3 for 3 in her young and promising career. After breaking her maiden impressively at Arlington Park by 2 3/4 lengths, Galactic Cat finished 2nd in the Prairie Meadows Debutante Stakes, losing by 1/2 length.
Congrats to all the partners and trainer, Rebecca Maker!

SAHMKINDAWONDERFUL WINS THE DOUBLE DELTA STAKES AT ARLINGTON PARK - JUNE 20, 2004

Dare To Dream Stable's Sahmkindawonderful was a game winner of the featured Double Delta Stakes at Arlington Park on Father's Day, running in front of the largest race track crowd in the country (28,223) on a glorious sunshine filled afternoon. This 3 year old daughter of Sahm (Mr. Prospector) out of the Bounding Basque mare, Lasque, was making her first start off an 8 month layoff. Under a perfect ride by Frank Lovato, Jr., Sahmkindawonderful rated in midpack for most of the 1 mile turf contest. With good position secured near the rail in 5th place, Lovato swung her out for the drive and she responded with a powerful rush to overtake the leaders by a head at the wire. She covered the 1 mile on a turf course rated good in 1:38. She now has a record of 4-2-1-0 $47,080. This win was the 3rd stakes victory in the last 4 months with 3 different horses for Dare To Dream Stable.
NICOLE'S DREAM WINS $117,700 MAMZELLE STAKES AT CHURCHILL DOWNS - APRIL 29, 2004!

Congratulations to all the partners in Nicole's Dream, who won the $117,700 Mamzelle Stakes at Churchill Downs on April 29th, 2004. Under a strong ride by Robbie Albarado, Nicole's Dream prevailed in a long stretch duel that saw her headed briefly near the 16th pole, only to fight back gamely along the rail for the win. Trainer, Larry Rivelli, did a masterful job in getting her prepared for this race off a winter freshening and an off-the-turf prep race in March at Tampa Bay Downs. Since being purchased last August by Dare To Dream Stable, Nicole's Dream has earned over $150,000, winning 5 of 7 starts including 3 stakes races and has set the track record at Arlington Park for 5 furlongs on the turf. The 4 year-old daughter of Northern Trend now has won 12 of her 24 career starts with earnings of $260,917. This was the 2nd Stakes win of over $100,000 in the last 2 months by Dare To Dream Stable. Tingwithasting won the $100,000 OBS Championships on March 15, 2004. Again, congrats to trainer, Larry Rivelli, and all the partners on a fantastic Derby Week Stakes win at Churchill Downs!
WALL STREET AFLEET WINS $50,000 MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT AT KEENELAND RACE COURSE - APRIL 21, 2004!

Congratulations to all the partners in Wall Street Afleet, who broke his maiden in a $50,000 Maiden Special Weight in the 3rd race at Keeneland Race Course on April 21, 2004. The 3 year-old son of Northern Afleet was coming into this race off of a solid 2nd place finish at the Fair Grounds in New Orleans, where he earned an 89 Beyer Speed figure and an 8- Ragozin number while finishing 2nd by 2 lengths in a MSW race run in 1:09 2/5ths for the 6 furlongs. 2 starts back he lost by only 4 lengths to subsequent Lafayette Stakes winner, Bwana Charlie. Wall Street has had a whole bunch of bad luck in all of his races. In this contest he had to overcome starting from the 10 hole and hold off the 2nd place horse who had the golden rail trip all the way around. Fortunately, Wall Street was game enough to pull it off. In doing so, he improved his record to: 5 1-1-1 $36,620. Dare To Dream's trainer, Rebecca Maker, also won the 2nd race that day at Keeneland and went on to win another race at Keeneland the day after as well.
Again, congrats to Becky and all the partners!
TINGWITHASTING WINS THE 2004 OBS CHAMPIONSHIP STAKES - FILLY DIVISION!

Congratulations go out in a big way to the connections of Tingwithasting, as she stung the field with a solid 5 length romp in the $100,000 OBS Championship Fillies Stakes at the Ocala Training Center on March 15th, 2004. Owned by Dare To Dream Stable, trained by Rebecca Maker and ridden to her rail hugging victory by jockey Frank Lovato Jr..
Confident going into the race, and covering the 1 1/16 miles in 1:45, it was the second victory for the 3 year old daughter of WILD RUSH who broke her maiden impressively by 5 1/2 lengths last October at Keeneland. "She's got quite a bit of speed, and she's fresh," Lovato quoted to the Bloodhorse. "My job was pretty simple. She broke real clean, and I just had to be quiet on her, get her settled, and finish -- and that's what happened. She's a good filly and she was nice to me today. I felt like I had quite a bit of horse, and I thought it would take a lot of horse to beat me." Apparently, one never surfaced! Click for chart.
